Hey guys, I know the CBR600F2/3 stuff will bolt right in; what are my other options that have worked for people?

I was thinking of trying some GSXR upside down forks, and I know they have been used, but which ones - from what year/model?

    Thanks in advance!

    GSXR UDS forks

    Seb,

OK, here's my sum total knowledge.

What triple would fit a 50mm fork and fit the 86 model? Or would you have to get GSXR triple and press out the stem and press in the VF stem?

After that, its a std frankenviffer project.

Lotta help, no? Sorry, I'm dead beyond the 3rd and 4th gens.

    Larry

Thanks Larry. Nice to know someone is reading at least... I'm planning on having to swap stems and redo the steering stops, if it works without all that extra work, great!

I'd like to stick with Honda parts, but they were stubborn when it came to using conventional forks - until the time finally came and now they are all too short. I've had a 2005 CBR600RR USD front end in my garage for going on 3 years now, haven't found a bike to put them on yet...

Hey Seb. I read it, but I haven't a clue! But I keep coming back hoping to find out!

Sounds like a cool project. I'm looking for a CBR to turn into a streetfighter. I have a lead on a ZX6 though.

    Hello Everyone,
I have tried many different forks like some gsxr 750, cbr 900, and i have found the 1994 gsxr 1100 forks to work the best on the 86 and 87 vfr 700's and 750's ? of course you will need to find the right springs for them to, if your setup is right it will make a big difference. the vfr stem will press out and into the gsxr triple but press the back wards its tapered,

I'm leaning towards CBR600F4/F4i forks & trees, already have a set of brakes I can use, and a Fox twin clicker w/ ride height adjust to make up the difference by jacking the rear. Might try to slide the forks down flush with the top triple and make some clip ons that mount below, but ride back up to stock CBR height...

HONDAVFR.ORG..not sure if it still up or not, but quick rundown.

i assume you mean f2/f3 front end swap

1 . get forks(91-94 f2, if interested i have some 91-93 for sale) 91-93 are older technology, 94 is cartridge technology. But can use Racetech emulators in 91-93 forks to make adjustable. Also Make sure to get a stiffer spring. F3 forks work, but they dont have a speedo drive.

Below is my personal shopping list.

    F2 FRONT END CONVERSION

    FRONT TIRE
    - Avon Viper Sport 120/60 x 17 Front Tire (Ebay)

    - EBC PROLITE Solid Right Rotor (Parts Unlimited P/N: MD1001RS) 148.95

    SPACER
    SPEEDO DRIVE
    AXLE
    RETAINING NUT
    CALIPER
    - STOCK CBR F2

    FORKS
    AXLE CLAMP BOLTS
    FRONT FENDER
    HAND GRIP
    BAR ENDS
    CLIPS ONS
    - WOODCRAFT

    VFR PARTS
    - VFR lower triple (for the steering stem)
    - Steering bearings (you can use OEM ball, or taper - the OEM balls give a lighter feel)
    - All switch-gear and master cylinders (this can be switched out if you want, but it takes
    some redesign)

    1) Put VFR Steering stem in CBR lower triple
    2) Tack Weld into Place for added security (optional)
    3) Machine(GRIND) Steering stops on CBR lowers to match those of VFR OR GRIND COMPLETLEY DOWN and
A)TAP AND THREAD FOR 6MM BOLT
