    Arai RX7 (Randy Red)

Found this beauty brand new for $250. After riding in an HJC for two years, this thing is so much nicer, although I could never bring myself to pay retail for an Arai. I mean its higher quality then my old helmet but I can't justify paying 6 times as much for a helmet. I got real lucky finding this one

Several have mentioned they have purchased used helmets. I don't recall anyone saying where they find these used helmets. I assume at least some of them were bought somewhere on line. My question is: Is it not risky purchasing a helmet on line where you are unable to try it on for fit first? For that matter same holds true for new helmets on line.

The proper fit of a helmet, as has been said many times here, is vital for optimum protection. What happens if you buy on line and the fit is poor?

So that's two questions instead of one. Sue me !:hangme::moonie:

I purchased my helmet online and had no problems. If it doesn't fit then return it. Most places have good return policies for helmet fitting. If the place doesn't have a great return policy, look elsewhere.

Got my Shoei on line after sending back a closeout AGV that did not fit right. I did try a Shoei at a local store before I ordered the second one, but saved $.

I have what some people would call a helmet addiction, but I prefer the Arai RX7 Corsair!

LOL I know what ya mean besides gloves which I can afford. If the wife would allow I'd probably have a different helmet for everyday of the week, but since that crazy $$$ I don't, but I know there's quite a few I'd like to have.

My XR1000 - had it for about 3 years now and no complaints with both the fit and finish. Fortunately I haven't had to road test its main reason for existing (touch wood)!

An Arai Viper GT Web (in black)
    Replaced my SV2
Very comfy - when you open the vents it just feels like switching aircon on. Bit noisier than my last one but I wear plugs.

It's fitted with pinlock visor so doesn't mist and has a drop down chin spoiler, stops turbulence under the chin.

I wanted a plain Viper but tried the Web design on for fit and my wife fell in love with it!

I have a Shoei x-11 Anthrocite. Very light and stable, but my chin peeks out a little (millimeters). Don't know if another helmet would fix that. Had an HJC cl-sp, but that one got trashed in a wreck. The messed up part about that was that the visor flew off due to the impact on the side of the helmet. I got some stitches on my nose. Protected my head though.

I voted Shoei because I've got two (RF1000, RF-R), but also have an Arai Signet GT.

Prefer the fit of Arai Signet GT, and like the ease of shield change with the Shoei. I use the Shoei when on multi-day trips, or when long days might require a shield change.

I really do have an Arai long oval head.

I used to have an HJC but once I saw the very girly Shoei Flutter I was sold!
I love the helmet so light and cool lookin!
I do find it a bit noisy so I wear ear plugs which makes all the difference.
