Missed this thread somehow. I have been told that someone spotted another Pearl with a "Hang Loose " sticker on the windscreen on the east west connector the other day. Someone out there is personating me the bas^#@d.

No problem. Since moving to the island I have seen a female rider with a black 6th gen in James bay area, a yellow 5th gen in Langford and a blue 6th gen in Saanich. No clue if they are members of this site or any other vfr forum, it would be nice to see other riders on the island on this site.....perhaps even plan a ride or someday.

 

A get together with local riders would be great. Even to meet up for a coffee.

 

A get together for a ride or coffee is a great idea.......hopefully more island viffers come out of the woodwork. Failing that, I'm not opposed to getting on the ferry and crashing some of the Vancouver/Lower Mainland get togethers.

I'm so far north, I get at least 3 months less riding time than you southerners.

Can I move down there? I heard it's expensive to live.

Hey Islanders. Something is in the works for September 14 to Winthrop Washington We would like to see you there. I am looking for an excuse to hit up the Island too. Haven't been over the pond for a few years now. I lived there for 11 years back and wished I had never left.

 

I am from mid island Naniamo and a buddy lives in vic that i ride with . i ride a 86 vfr mostly and his is a 99 in red. I'm out every Monday with a mixed group here in nanimo and am usually out somewhere every weekend .

 

Before moving to Victoria (previously lived in Alberta) I had a shorter riding season, I hope to take advantage of the milder fall/winter conditions and ride for as long as the road conditions are safe to ride in.

You're right about the higher cost of living, a similar house where i use to live was about 150k to 200k less.

 

Thanks for the invite, unfortunately I have prior commitment for the 14th of September that I cant get out of......maybe next time.

If and when you do cross the pond, let me know.....we can hook up with the other island riders and arrange a greet and meet ride/lunch/coffee.

 

Let me know when you will be in Victoria area next time, perhaps Raro, you and your friend and I can hook up.

I was in vic on sat for a little ride with a couple of budies from van and then back again sunday. I'll be down there again this weekend Fri-Sun. but not sure of my sched .I'll see if you guys are around if i can find a comp. to check .Hopefully weather will be nice enough to ride .

 

Ok so ill be up for a ride this sat morn . I will be at the McCullum drive timmies .The one by Costco and Starbucks at around 10 am if any of you local guys want to go for a bit of a ride .Destination can be figured out there .I'll be on the old VFR in RWB colours .
