I have recently purchased a 84' VF1000F. What years was this model built and does anyone know why, as I understand it, it was only a few? Any good books about the Interceptor history?:unsure:Thanks for the help.

Last I heard, Honda dropped larger displacement bikes in the US due to complaints bu none other than Harley Davidson. The government enacted a tariff on bikes larger than 700cc to allow HD to thrive. This happened sometime in the late 80s I think.

I don't remember that time, I do remember the 750 Suzuki GS ruling in the late 70s, what a bike! I remember looking at the Honda CB 900 and thinking what a weird looking bike?LOL After riding the CB900 I did feel cozy, muscle and a humble feeling inside. What a bike for the time.:treehugger:

Honda made the 84 VF1000F only in 84, in 85 they made the infamous gear driven cam version VF1000R and in 86 too, but with dual headlamps. As far as I know that was it for the US. All thou rumors where they kept making them overseas. Sorta like the mysterious 1988-89 VFR
