Hi from over the sea. Lang may your lum reek !as we say over here. I have a Gen 4 750 FT in silver (my wife thinks it looks less aggressive than my previous red FT) I'll post a photo in gallery. Background is that I got rid of my dream bike, (previous 750FT) because I do a lot of road cycling (all on steel handbuilt bikes - with italian components - I'm a gear snob )and wasn't using it. However I regretted it as soon as I saw the guy ride away on it. Every year for four years I test drove bikes, GS, Africa Twins, Blackbirds VTEC VFR's, but never committed. Then this year I spent 9 months looking for another good 750. My wife found my present bike - one owner - every invoice - FHSH low mileage. I bought it, put Pilot Road 2's on and hey - back in the fold. Why do I love the 4th gen?. Looks mainly - it looks like nothing else on the road. Paint a mile deep, superb finish. And I love riding a bike which is over engineered. If there is a bike equivalent of a Patek Phillipe watch, the VFR is it - that engine! Rode home tonight in company of an 800i - the gear whine and induction noise raises hairs on the back of my neck - love it! Anyhow, since I'm here - have a wee single malt on me.
"I love the sound of gear driven cams in the morning" Awwwww....amen to that brother. Hello and welcome to the forum highlander! The quickening is near!
Welcome. Us carbureted guys are getting more rare by the day. I did the same thing in selling my 96, regretting it, waiting, then finding a 97. I'm stuck now...
Sounds like you have a beauty. Welcome aboard. May a mouse never leave your corn crib with a tear in his eye.
Ok, i had 2 JW's and a drambuie to top it off. damn fine!:drinker: welcome to the fold :team2: its a fun place to be. regards to nessie RT
actually, should have had some of this. but as you can see, theres not too much left in 'my precious'.
Try one of these. You will not be disappointed I'm sure. View attachment 4507 And the CC, yup. that was one of my favorites when I drank Rye but moved on to Crown Royal, then Crown Limited. As a matter of fact, when I pulled these out to take the picture, some of the stuff on the left just jumped out into a glass and is sitting next to me. I am not drinking it of course, just watching the ice melt. Highland Park I think bottles a 25 year old too I think. But it is somewhere around $350.00 here so if I get some, I had better not tell the wife. She would not understand. She's a non drinker.
Aah! Highland Park - I've got a 12 year old in the cupboard. My preferred tipple of Scotch is Laphroig, but some people can find it a bit of a peaty mix. I know I will be forbidden from wearing the kilt when I admit this, but my favourite after dinner tipple is JD on the rocks!
Yes. And Oban is another peaty one that I did not like at first, but the second wee dram changed my minf. Absolutely nothing wrong with the HP 12 year old either. That was an earlier favourite until I tried the 18. Check out the Name you Scotch thread. BTW, soon as I can pry some cash from my wife, our next major vacation will be to Scotland. Her idea and of course I objected to it wildly. See if I can find any distant clan over there.
