    Would anybody know what other method that i can use to adjust the pilot screws on a 84 500 ceptor???

    Instead of purchasing a really expensive tachometer that i will only be using on this bike......

    And the pilot screws meter how much fuel delivery is sent to the cylinders when idling instead of how much air???

    And would anybody be kind enough to take a couple of pictures of their side stand??
    Side and top shots would be great!!!

    Mine is in the way of my shifter for some reason....:unsure:

    Thank you

    Use your bike tack and your ears. You should be able to hear the engine drop or raise 50 rpms. I don't have a 500. Is your shifter arm bent in a little? Take a good look from the top. You can index the shifter to any position you want. Take off shifter and rotate a notch and slide back on. Previous owner may have rotated it up for big boots to get under.

    The shifter is in the right position, but I need pictures to see if the shifter is either bent in, or the kickstand is bent.

    Because the shifter is nice and comfortable.

    I'll try using the original tach, but my ears might will be the most difficult tool that I have to use.... I have poor hearing.

    Is your stand worn out maybe? Are you able to push it back and forth (in and out) as opposed to up and down? Bent maybe?
    Your pilot screw task will get easier with practice and a growing familiarity with your bike and how it idles and responds just off idle.

    Yeah, if I were to put it down and pull in and out, theres maybe a 1/8" of play.

    I'll probably have to PM some members with a 500. That's the only way I think I'm going to be able to find the proper position for the stand.

    Here goes nothing on the pilot screws.

    And I also went on a 10mile run through town, and boy, I'm loving these V4's.:party2:

    SHOOOOOOSH....don't let me SOHC-4's know this.:rolleyes::rolleyes::smile::smile:

    Thanks
