I'm curious how many miles you have traveled Jan thru July '08 on your VFR's.

I've put more than 2000 miles on my bike in the last 3 months that I've owned it and it is not even my daily commuter. I just don't understand why some people buy bikes and just park them in their garages. It's hard for me to understand how people sell bikes that are 5+ years old with less miles on them than I put on a bike in 1 year of recreational use.

Impressive porky! Almost 4400 miles since Apr! You commute on your VFR?

Where's the high mileage bikes? I'm looking forward to seeing some bikes with 40 or 50K on the odometer.

The bike had 4K on it when I bought it and i watched it roll ofer 17K on the way into work today. I would have more miles but we actually had some ice and snow in the winter of 06. I usually ride year round unless it's below 20 or there is ice on the road.

Hi Buckwheat. About 600 miles of that is commuting. I've ridden the viffer most days since I've gotten it. Several nice days I've taken vacation days and just ridden pretty much all day, that really racked up the miles.

Hi Rollin_Again. For used bikes with low miles, I think for some people the bike is a lot like other toys. People buy all sorts of things, boats, campers, etc. etc. with plans to use them and then just don't end up having time to use them or it seemed like more fun to them than it actually turned out to be.

oops, sorry guys...my ODO reading is approx 2800 (bought brand new).

 

Close to 5K.
Rode a few days in 1/08, only one day in 2/08.
I do like the deer, run in big circles when I ain't hunkered for bad weather.

Yeah, I gotta say I envy you guys with nice year round weather. I'm not equipped yet for cold weather riding but that's something I'm hoping to work on.

 

Anybody else tally their miles yet?

Or is it safe to assume most of you don't bother keeping track?

 

Bought mine in September 07 with 1,750 on the odometer and now at August 08 the odometer is at 18,413 miles.

A couple of long trips help. Of course you should also see my lawn. I think a couple of neighborhood kids may be lost in there.

 

2007 model. Miles on this bike in 2008: 5,616 (plus 3,164 on my V-Strom). Odometer reading: 8,923, and purchased new on 08/06/2007.

 

hehe yes day trips can rack up mileage pretty fast. ewryly you really do need to get that grass cut though
