How strong are grab rails?

Looking to use a top case, but don't want to install all the ugly hardware that goes with it. I can visualize a way to modify a top case and use c-clamps to connect it to the grab rails. The grab rails seem to be strong enough that I could probably do a handstand on them if I wanted. Any input for or against this idea before I try it?

    Thanks!

I don't know if the handles are the right platform for what you want. Maybe a simple rail that bolts to the handle mounts. That would still be unobtrusive.

I'm thinking that c-clamps would be pretty ugly too. Ignoring that aspect, the grab rails do seem to be pretty sturdy.

I made bushings and got longer bolts to attach my homemade rack.

Now that's nice. Looks like it comes off easy enough for when you no longer need it and you want your Honey to go back looking sweet as a gorgeous young nude lying provocatively on a polar bear rug.

Gotta go for a shower now.

That does look good! Thanks for sharing that. Wish I could do the same, but I have a gen3, where the grab rails are foldable and bolt UNDER the seat!
