Yeah whatever. One arrogant and annoying post deserves another... so here it goes.

I choose to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that in person you're probably a swell person. You probably have your funny moments, you probably would lend a helping hand as needed, etc.

A lot of your posts here are far too arrogant and narrow-minded for my taste though. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I'm concerned that you believe yours is somehow more important that most--perhaps to the point of being fact. And that's kind of weird.

I really don't see evidence that you listen much either--implying that your purpose here is simply to bestow the ignorant masses with information about how the world should be, according to you, and the reason you're leaving is because you feel that people are just too damn stupid to "get it".

Well no thanks. I've gotten along just fine in life with reality, and of course my own humble opinions and preferences.

With that said, one thing is for sure--you make a fantastic Triumph owner. Good job propping up that stereotype. For once it doesn't seem so misplaced. Perhaps if Honda comes out with a "real V4 or V5" (whatever the hell that means), and you purchase one, you'll rejoin us in the real world. Either way I don't particularly care.

But any rate... human to human, and with much sincerity, I wish you the best of luck out there. Please do try to be safe, keep taking care of the fam, etc.

I've owned several bikes now. This is by far the most high maintenance group I've been a part of. I should have bought the BMW I was looking at. At least I would know the other BMW owners have an attitude because it was included in the purchase price.

This is the second time I've been through this. First it was the Blackbird board. Wah wah wah Honda doesn't this, and Honda doesn't that. Now the VFR owners. Get over it and buy something else if it's that big a deal.

All I know is my "old" Honda's have taken a total beating from me and have never complained.

In all honesty - I really don't care.

Like others have said before me, this is tha Interwebz, and everyone has an asshole, er, opinion. Tha Interwebz is SRS BSNS.

I can't believe how worked up some people get when their "opinion" is shattered on an internet forum, they get their panties in a wad, and pack their bags.

IMHO - the site is better for it, becuase that's not the kind of folk we want here anyways. I never really chatted with Taz, nor can I say that I knew him well (alas, poor Yorick... ahem...), but seriously dude....

So lurk all you want, read this post, wipe up your tears and take your whining elsewhere.

I'll still be here, because this is the most helpful, friendly, and informative forum out there, and it's a mega-bonus that it's about VFRs. Good luck finding greener pastures, Taz.

always sad so to see information leave the community.
I still like my 6th gen and don't crave or lust over any other bike.
The ST is not a better bike for me, i also payed cash for my bike.

I do however relize it is not as sport focused as the 5th gen and many would like a larger shift to the sport side. thats why they sell more than one type of bike.

I'm new to this website/forum. I take it this TAZ guy was something akin to the Dahli Lama and is now retreating into exile. I can understand his dispair with Honda though. I'm on my third VFR and with each subsequent model, I felt they got porkier and carried away with the addition of "technology for technologies' sake". Although I firmly believe that the linked braking has saved me numerous times when I've gone way too fast into decreasing radius corners. And gear driven cams sound so cool. So unlike TAZ, I've shopped around and see nothing out there that comes as close to perfection as my old '98 VFR. It took Ohlins and RaceTech to straighten out the suspension woes and HeliBars to make it more comfortable.......but any new purchase would require the same mods to make it work for me. Even Motorcyclist magazine recently said that if you have a '98-01 VFR800.... to hang on to it since it's one of the best scoots ever made. I agree. Maybe Honda will make the new one lighter and better suspended, but in the meantime there's no need to sacrifice young virgins to this TAZ god if you ask me.

One might think that if this dude owned hundreds of bikes he would know what to get next. Maybe an AMF HD?

I am pissed cause no one responded to my golf thread.. I can't quit though, I haven't got my 20 bucks worth yet. I am just going to take my golf clubs and loose my frustrations by taking a club and beating the living shit out of some poor little defenseless hard thing and then leave it out to bake in the sun

Yeh, I thought so Bud but as I said, on the re-read, someone could be quite offended and that is the last thing I want to do. Man I am so relaxed, that if I smokes a dubbie, I would probably tense up.

What golf thread? Not that I would have responded, but I would have liked knowing that I was purposely ignoring you, not doing it accidentally...

What Gen are your clubs? Har, har...

With regard to Taz leaving, it really is too bad. I had of course formed an opinion of him based on his posts and replies, as all of us do with each other. I can only imagine what some members think of me on occasion...

Anyway, the best of luck to him. As others have pointed out, his input had value. I was hoping to meet him in person if the Reno/Tahoe trip came together, just to see what he was like in person. I particularly wanted to see if he pronounced "tyre" like "tire"...

So I guess the rest of us are now stuck with each other. I'll pencil in some time to be depressed about it, if I ever get around to it. In all seriousness, this particular group of people, in the short time I have been a member here, have been outstanding. All of us have our pissy days, we all feel strongly about particular things, and like all good friends do, we occasionally feel the need to be harsh when stating our opinion(s). Whatcha gonna do? We're human. Well, that IS an assumption on my part, but why sweat the small stuff?

All right, enough typing. You know, Taz was respectful enough to let us know he was going. No matter what form it takes, it is a gesture of camaraderie.

Ok, let me get this straight, TAZ is an "Uber Rider" ,shall we say, that has owned approximately 1000 V-4's, or whatever, has rode every bike manufactured, and conquered Asia. Gnarley!! Anyway, in 2002, those rat-b-----d Honda engineers unveil the 6th Gen. All of a sudden, in one instance all that was once mighty is now fallen. So TAZ,much like Paul on the road to Damascus, has an epiphany of sorts :pope2: and decided that with every last breath he will fight the demon 6th Gen. So, his weapon of choice, oh yes....the almighty POSTING!!!!:soapbox:

And so it began, post after post, he exposed the world to the evils of V-TEC the overweight, underpowered demon from the sewers of Nagasaki. And thrawls of admirers followed him to battle against the Anti-Christ, or Honda, and its little Militia, a truly sad spec of humanity not fit for carrying the waste of a platoon of child molestors. They (TAZ's minions) lauded his expertise in everything from engineering to farting. I don't believe a King's ass got that many kisses. But then, the unthinkable happened.......6th Gen owners actually like their bikes and posted their comments....What??!! DAMN YOU HONDA!!!! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!!!!:kaboom:

So to make a very long and extremely uninteresting story short, since there has been disagreements and contention, TAZ is taking his ball and going home! I mean, the thought of people sharing differing opinions is way too morally repugnant. The next thing you know, women will want to vote.....unheard of!!! Well I got just one thing to say to that 10 degree black belt in BADASS, or TAZZ......Uh, bye I guess. I enjoyed the postings. I actually like alot of bikes, even the Devil's Moped otherwise known as the 6th GEN.

To be quite truthful TAZ, I don't know why you needed to post anything. You could have just stopped logging on or something?? But, I bid you farewell....parting is sweet sorrow.....Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday....Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye.

There are so many spelling errors in this thread! But I'm not quite ready to quit yet! So hit the brakes and give me a break. I'm going to go listen to my XM radio while I ride.
six two and even, over and out.

    BWahhaahaahaa!

Buh Bye, Taz. (And whoever else decides to quit the horrible old internet because of something someone said.)

I'm totally bummed out. Now I'll never see a picture of the infamous, almighty, hypothetical 6th gen with VF1000R motor???

Good god, how can I go on...
