I am new to the streetbike world, have been commuting 60miles/day on an 83 XR500 dirtbike liscensed for the street. I'm looking to Upgrade big time, and looking at a 91 interceptor as well as a 98 FZR 600 and 97 Katana 600. Could you offer advice on selections, things to look out for, possible mechanical issues, etc. Is the vfr comfortable enough for long rides with a passenger?

Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks

The VFR is made for commuting and touring. As far as riding 2up...size matters. The combined weight of the riders can over tax the suspension. But as long as you both are medium to smallish it won't be a problem. The VFR will be way better for what you want than the FZR or a Katana. Several members here have come from those bikes and can tell you first hand. As far as issues with the VFR, I will let '91 owners cover that.
    Welcome aboard.

Well.....uhum.....that equals about one of me, so I think you should be fine riding two up. I guess I should state that I'm not speaking about height......

You're fine. Take her for a spin if at all possible. See how it feels.

what kind of mileage can I expect, I drive a mix of mountain roads and city. I am light weight and pretty light on the throttle.

Also will jetting for 7000 ft be a problem,? can you recommend some resources for jetting info and parts?
