Thanks ILVFR75. I sensed you didn't even have a mental picture of my Domain but were just generically mentioning the various spoilers and geegaws that some helmets have. Have had this for a few years now, so I'm looking at getting a Shoei Raid2. These have a good reputation from other riders and are quite reasonably priced.

 

Since this post was worthless without pictures...

 

Shoei RF-1000 in Anthracite. Previous helmet was the RF-900, which did its job well in a high side...

I have a "Shoei" shaped head. :smile:

 

Shoe RF1000 -- love it. Although I may have went Scorpion 1000, but they weren't out yet.

Icon Main Frame Hooligan. Tested it face first @ 55mph worked great, bought another one just like it.

 

Just a reminder....... Helmets have experation dates and may not work when you need them to.

Shoei Rf1000 but I was sooo close to buying a Shark RSR2, my glasses would not fit in it.

Got a real good price for the X-11's. "if you have a ten dollar head then buy a ten dollar helmet." It was an old honda ad slogan. this helmet is very light and super quiet. I don't even notice and wind effects(buffeting) at any speed.

I purchased an Arai Vector (new model for '08) right before my 3 day 800 mile trip. I absolutely loved it!! I bought a lot of new gear for the trip and this was definitely the best purchase.

The only drawback is the whole liner is not removable for washing, just the cheekpads. In retrospect I would have bought the Corsaur Rx-7 for the removable pads. I still love the helmet though and I will only buy Arai for now on.
