    Hi 5th gen:

I'm about to order a VFRness and R/R from this fellow at JT Custom Electrical and thought I'd get some feedback good or bad on dealing with him, quality of parts, etc. I have the intermittent charging system blues.

I ordered from him - takes about 3 weeks to get the order. I have the harness and its of decent quality. I plan to install soon.

I sent a couple emails to him and he responded fine. Its just one guy doing this part time. I didnt have any problems.

I saw the R/R he is selling. I am way far from qualified to make a statement on this, but the OEM Honda part has much more fin area than the one he's selling and I would still go that way to the new Honda part.

I ordered one back in Sept/October. I've put in a ton of miles and statistically my R/R should be fried by now but due to the VFRness my R/R is still working just great.

Like MD said it's just one guy doing this in his part-time so don't expect a 800 number but he's got a great niche covered. The Honda dealership's solution is just to get another R/R every 10K-12K miles. But the problem with that the R/R can just stop without warning and you can find yourself stranded.

If you know how to do basic wiring you can install it yourself. Although you might blow a fuse or two if you screw up so if you don't see a clock on the dash look for blown fuses.

    thanks guys,

sounds like the thing to do is get the updated R/R from Honda , then order the wiring and do that when it shows up. I've been stranded twice now and this thing is tough to roll start, especially when you've had multiple knee surgeries. I have it apart now, and I'm pretty handy, looks pretty easy.

Ordered it and it took less than 1 week after ordering.
Installed it...a little more difficult than expected (managing wiring).
It works....14.5 Volts across battery terminals consistent at multiple RPM's.
    Also installed ElectroSport's R/R.
