    Harley Davidson:
Turning gasoline into noise with out the unwanted side effect of horsepower for over 100 years.

And this from a guy who has had 5 of 'em! (A magneto kick only XLCH, 2 XLCR's, a 79 FLH80 bagger and an XR1000.)

See reggie! Deleting the Who Hates Harley thread was a mistake.

Just imagine how all these posts could have added to it:strong:

Let's just say that AMC was so impressed with the program, it will soon be adopted by the entire USAF. We had a mandate to have every person who rides a "sport bike" trained by the end of September. Good thing they deployed me for 65% of the training season right? The definition of "sport bike" is left to the discretion of the Sport Bike Rider Coaches. The way I look at it, if your bike has 120/70's & 180/55 or 190/55's on it, it's a sport bike. Obviousy, if you ride a BMW with those sizes, they wouldn't be required but my personal theory is I'm not turning anyone away who wants to take the class.

I don't have too many friends in Kommiefornia. Seems that liberals don't like me too much. I think it's something to do with my belief that liberals are ruining the country & that I tell them this.

Ah. Yet another great reason why I live in So. AZ. The right to bear arms, in a concealed fashion.

Sometimes I wanna buy a "leg rig" so my sidearm is easily visible when I ride. Instead of being tucked under my jacket.

I'd sure like to see that program down here in Tucson. Some of these "kids" could really use it.

    Paintball is fun...

Hey Reg...paintball is great, if you ever seriously want to go after that guy...let me know. I'll take a trip out to Cal and catch him in a crossfire from the other side  And Frozen is the way to go...good thinking.

I plan on applying for my pistol permit when I turn 21...and then whatever the new york laws are for carrying a concealed weapon... when people ask me why I want a pistol...I say because it's my right... New York makes it so hard to do stuff like that though....

anyways...I've been riding for almost 3 months now... have just under 3,000 miles under my belt...and have only had like 3 people not wave to me...of course buffalo area new york is really known for their hard a** bikers right?

Ya. And ever notice they all have the "I'm a bad ass look on their faces" I chuckle at that. You know, I can be just as bad ass as the rest of them. I choose not to and am very comfortable with that. Course they can't see through my tinted face shield as I roll my eyes, winse my nose or whatever.

Gotta go. A ride to Manning Park is part of my plans today.

The funniest thought just occurred to me... What if all the wannabe tough guys (& gals) decided that the only bike to have that would truly intimidate and strike fear into the hearts of all those around them was a Honda VFR?

One cylinder would have to be disabled, so it would be down on power and vibrate. A couple of bolts loosened to induce some fluid leakage, although the motor vibration might eventually take care of that. A few valve shims would have to replaced, and the primary drive gears would have to altered so there would be unusual and slightly disconcerting noises while the engine was running... The list goes on from there.

Now that I really think about it, maybe that's why people with old Harleys look pissed off all the time. They have headaches and their kidneys hurt all of the time.

And JTC, maybe the guy was puking because he found out how much it was going to cost to fix his newest noise.

Just half-kidding, of course. I have yet to understand why some people need to come off as being some sort of dangerous animal, and why they choose Harley to get the point across. It sure does make my life seem simple, though.

We actually teach them to ride a sport bike the way it was meant to be ridden. Now, notice I did not say go out & go 180mph on the street. We simply teach them what their bikes can do & how to do it safely. In reality, we really don't teach them anything. The coaches are more of a mentor than anything. Yes, we have taken training to make us better riders but anyone can ride as good as we can. All most need is to be shown how.

    The 3 most important things:

    1) Throttle control. No one ever gives this a second thought. Most people think this is mudane & boring, right up to the point when you need to have a steady head going thru a slow speed weave or around a decreasing radius turns with a guard rail on one side & trees on the other.

    2) Cornering. Once someone has been shown how much of a difference body position & proper throttle control can make, it makes them a better rider almost instantly. Knowing what to do if you blow the entry to a corner can save your life. Trust me, I know since it has happened to me.

    3) The Mind Game/Mentoring. Most, if not all, dumb ass squids are dumb ass squids because no one ever sat them down & explained how their actions do in fact affect EVERYONE on a sport bike. This has been beat, beat & beat to death in other threads but there are still ASSHOLES (that's right, I said it & they know who they are) that still don't understand that doing 150 mph & stand up wheelies & lane splitting (where it's not legal) & burn outs in traffic makes life difficult for anyone who desires to ride a sport bike in public. Riding is a Mind Game. Once a person figures out that riding IS NOT a competition, it usually makes them a better rider. It's mostly the younger kids who have this problem.

You mean there are still 1%er biker gangs around? I thought they had all gone away and been replaced by wannabes and posers. Shit, my CPA rides a "factory custom" Harley ( whatever the hell means) and I'm pretty sure my daughter could take him in a fight. When my little disco coworker and then my monkeyboy neighbor and his tighta$$ WASP wife showed up with a new bagger grinning like someone had given them the keys to city, I said I'll never own another one. Although I do like the new Sportster a bit, that you can only buy in....wait for it....Europe!

Wayy back in 85 (and no, it's 1985, not 1885), I was leaving a club and saw this clown on my VF700F rocking back and forth. I politely:rant:asked him to get off my bike and at his request :tongue2: gently assisted him:kaboom:...

PS: This was before I developed a degree of control over my temper...

    Why not use the real..............

I'm about to start shootin paintballs as the assmunch who takes off full speed with stright pipes on the block behind me... since full speed amounts to about 25-30 mph, I should be able to hit him with barely any lead on the paintball. -------------note to self ( freeze the paintballs first...)[/QUOTE]

    Reg
I would use my real:2guns: blast them off, Just make sure leave no witness.

Meh you did what right you walked way although guiding him to his bike would have been better..
but what hurt more..you fighting or him drukenly running into a semi... just hope he hurts no one...maybe give him a flat just to save others.

    on the wave thing

    Wave at everyone!

It takes nothing to wave and part of the reason HD don't wave is because some sport bikers don't wave...break the circle.
Here everyone waves and it should stay that way.

I just can't believe people let people get that drunk and ride...more amazing is this people are still walking.

I can't imagine getting tanked up and riding 2 wheels. I've always said you can't fall off of a car. When riding, I won't even have A beer, let alone enough to make me puke.
