Ok just got my renewal, it went up. what about you guys, who you having the best luck with? Me? it use to be State Farm, had everything under them till my son had a vehicle fender bender then they wouldn't renew. So now it's Farmers which wasn't bad, till now.. Not being noisy, just if you can through up your numbers mine went from $459 a year to $762, no fouls either. WTH!?
I have all 4 of my Interceptors on a 12 month policy with Progressive for $213 per year. All I have is liability and nothing else.
Before I bought my bike, I called Dairyland and quoted me something like $900 because I didn't own the bike yet, don't ask me why, they wouldn't tell me what the real quote would be if I owned the bike. Statefarm was $450 every 6 months, Allstate about the same, so I'm with Progressive at $450 a year.
Try Esurance.com. That is just another name for American Modern Select. I was going to cancel with my Farmers Agent and go with esurance, but she said that she could do a policy with American (same as esurance). 07 RWB & 03 ACE full coverage, 91 XR250L & 83 VF750F liability only for $850.00 for 12 months, for all 4 bikes. Farmers wanted $1300.00/yr for the RWB alone!!!
Woah, what's up with your guys rates!?! I'm a single 18 year old male. I'm paying 200 a YEAR on my 90 Radian. My VF500F Interceptor wasn't that far off either. Albeit, it's just liability. The bike itself isn't worth insuring. They applied a discount because in the 3 years I've had my car license I've never had an accident, nor in the 7 months I've had my M endorsement. Other than that, nothing. EDIT: With Progressive BTW. Oh and little known fact that you have to ask for when talking to an agent, Progressive offers a 5% discount just for having a Honda (though it does take up the Motorcycle Association discount slot).
Liability only is only about $80.00/yr on my bikes. What gets you is the full coverage. But, on a $10,000 bike full coverage is the only way to go.
I have mine with Academy. SOCAL and Baja rates apply. $466.20 a year, 2 bikes '86 & '06 both VFRs, liability & uninsured. I don't know why I got uninsured because people with no insurance tend to run. Which means my bike would still have be ridable enough to run them down and at the very least get a lic. plate #.
I have USAA. When I had full coverage on the VFR, it was $400/year in Rembert, SC. When I moved to the CPRofNJ, it would have been $900/year for full coverage. The bike was paid off so I dropped down to minimum. Now I pay $140/year for the VFR & $125/year for the Hawk GT, minimum coverage. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
Geico - 1st year rider. 32 years old. $185 a year. Liability only. A $300 hike a year, seems a little foul to me.
Insurance I am with AAA and I paid $800 a year full coverage (25-50-25) with over 20 years of riding. They srew poeple who live in Ca.:ncb::ncb::ncb::ncb:
i have state farm, full coverage clean record, 37yrs. old, 325.00- nationwide wanted 525.00 and i have my house and cares with them. i dont get it.
My insurance is through a place called McGraw Insurance Services. It is a little less than $400/year for four bikes, 3 minimum coverage and the VFR full coverage. And that's with one point (?) on my record for the speeding tickets that never seem to stop haunting me. Their phone number is 800-303-5000, although I do not know if they handle other states besides California.
Good Price LGN001, What is your coverage on the VFR? I think I will give them a call. Thanks for the INFO.
Cheapest I found was ATV & Motorcycle Insurance: Markel American Insurance Co My '99 VFR is the very first bike I've had and had my MC license for less than a year plus clean driving record and it costs me $160 per year for minimum.
I also have AAA for 21 years now and they do over charge everyone, i am having to change my frame on one of my bikes because it has a salvage title and they wont insure it, but i had full coverage on one my 86 vfr700 and i thought it was around $ 650.00 a year ? i might be wrong
15 years licensed just under 6 bills for 2 bikes/year (1 non-vfr) liability and non insured/damage with progressive. before i got the viff, my other bike was a whopping $123/year for the basics. still, $600/year is a far cry from $1600/year for my car w/full. gotta love CA.
and im 46 with a clean driving record but i have full coverage on what the wife drives she has had some mishaps, and i have two kids on there too ?
The VFR has full coverage (collision, comprehensive etc.) with limits of 15K/30K if I remember correctly, $500 deductible. I can't find my policy right off, so that is from memory.
I pay a little more than I probably should, but for me, it's a piece of mind. I love my VFR, and will never replace it, unless it gets wrecked, then I'll rebuild a similiar one. My premium is as follows... BODILY INJURY 2,500,000 / 7,500,000 EUR $258.98 PROPERTY DAMAGE 500,000 EUR $262.35 CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS 50,000 EUR PART D - PHYSICAL DAMAGE COVERAGE COMPREHENSIVE LOSS ACV LESS $175.59 COLLISION LOSS ACV LESS $317.59 VEHICLE TOTAL PREMIUM $1014.51 Granted this is for Germany, where insurance isn't terribly cheap. It was cheaper in Las Vegas, and ALOT cheaper in Sioux City when I was remote to Korea. I also have a $250.00 deductable. My personal opinion is that liability is a waste. I'll pay the extra $$$ to have my vehicle replaced. I've known too many ppl to have liability, get in a wreck(their fault), the insurance pays for the damages, but they're out a vehicle. This might not be the norm, but I don't ever want to be in that position.
