Divided VFR world?

No Division here, babe...

 

You are not alone. The only VFR's in the 4 local Honda dealers (when I say local, I mean within 75 miles) are all left over 06's & 07's. The closest Honda dealer is a Honda/Yamaha dealer & they came right out & told me that they will not order VFR's with out a deposit.

When I bought my VFR in 2000, it was stolen 4 days later with 86 miles on the odometer. It was the only one they had for the season & it took Honda of Sumter almost 6 weeks to get me another one.

Awhile back, we had a post about why VFR's are slow sellers. In a nutshell, my reply to that was basically: "Somewhere along the way, the American Sport Biking public got convinced that the fastest bike with the most horse power is the best. Until that changes, the VFR will never sell well in the USofA & will only sell to enthusiasts who buy VFR's for what they are."

I'd like to also add the VFR is a very special niche. For the cruisers and slow bikers there are goldwings and st1300s and for the racers there are the CBRs. The VFR is basically in between, just comfortable enough to go on long trips but can still keep up with the racers.

Plus I have to admit it's kinda hard to get excited about it and doesn't generate the pure thrill of riding a 150 hp 300 lb bike nor does it feel like you're riding on air with those plush cruisers.

However for me it's the perfect bike and I'm actually a little worried for when my 5th gen gets old. What bike will replace it? It's one of the few bikes out there that I can ride from Atlanta to Daytona Beach in one day and yet it's still really fast.

 

my 06 makes maximum horsepower at 11,750 rpm's, not that you have to ride it like that.....the dude is a salesman.........selling what he has and not what he doesn't....

The 6th Gen guys started all this trouble with their so called Militia !!! Now we must fight the battle and wage war against those who upraised and took to separate them selfs towards independence !!
