    Hello!

Just picked up my latest toy - a 2001 VFR Fi1 - and came home yesterday from following a 120 mile ride through forests and the southern coast in England. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!! The bike is mint, 17800 miles, and I'm simply loving it as my first VFR. Always wanted one for years! Starting with this one, although I hope to move to a 6th gen one day when the wallet allows.

    Great site!

Here are a couple pics taken by the previous seller, hope to get a few up of my own soon.

Thanks fellas - the blue was what drew me to it in the first place! Typical after you get the bike, it just p*sses down with torrential rain for the next 24 hours! The skies have cleared this evening tho... time to get comfy with it  seeya in a bit...

Gorgeous bike! If I ever paint my bike, that will be the way I go.

The last bike I owned (for 13 years) was the same color and I really miss it...

Just got back... woohoo!!! The V engine is just so dreamy - a perfect marriage of a twin's warble and torque mated with inline4 sewing machine smoothness. Why aren't all bikes V4s? (is the upcoming V5 really gonna better this?)

There are a couple things I'm looking at doing imminently:

    - rear hugger (any recommendations? I've seen Pyramid mentioned quite a few places)

    - double bubble screen (I think the Zero Gravity DB looks ok... or should I go for the ZG Touring?... I'm 5'11")

    - getting Ventureshield around the bike to protect the paintwork from scratches etc

I'm surprised at just how 'together' this bike feels, how linear the power delivery is, and just well sorted it is... despite it being 7 years old. As a general purpose bike, is the Vtec VFR really that much better? I was riding a Suze before and it was unbelievably smooth, but maybe too smooth for it's own good.

Typical, I lusted after a Viffer, never rode one, then bought one sight unseen off Fleabay:rolleyes:! Thank goodness it's a good'un.

I know lots of people like the zero gravity but I found the Puig to provide protection and looks.

Nice bike. I really like that color. You should send a thank you card to the previous owner for keeping it in such good condition.

That's a great idea - I wonder what he's riding now? Thanks for the Puig site - does it provide more protection than the ZG DB/Touring? Right now the air's hitting me straight in the chest, and I'd like to move it up to the helmet and just above the neck if poss.

Congrats on you new ride - that blue looks awesome!
-Hugger - I have a Pyramid, it worked out ok, but I cut it down some so it would stop hitting the rear tyre.
    - ZG - I have the DB and like it. I'm 5'11'' too. Windscreens are a personal taste thing, some like it, some dont.
    - Vtec? I'm not saying a word! Do a search and come to you own conclusions.

    Good luck,
    MD

Can't say if it offers more than the ZG. I do knwo that it is finished better thatn the ZGs I have seen and it moved the airstream from my chest and shoulders to my helmet.I am 6' tall and tall in the seat to boot. I found the airstream to be smooter after the install of this windshield. I have the racing Db but there should be a touring version.

If you want to see what it looks like look for fankoQ's pics of the bikini bike wash. Mine is the white VFR with the girl in the white Bikini.

LOL.... glad you carefully pointed out which bike it was... almost didn't see any bikes in those pics!

Thanks for the tips on the Pyramid hugger and also the Puig/ZG. I'm tempted to try the ZG DB for now as I enquired about the Puig availability here in the UK, and it seems to be only available on the VtecVFR.

Oh, and finally got around to taking a few pics this late afternoon - not the best, but I absolutely love this machine.
