Thanks, I could have used some sound effects, but I'm new at this. and it's really hard to place the mic where it won't pick up wind noise yet hear the bike. I use a Sony Handy cam DCR-HC96 with a Sony 580 res. bullet cam.

If you are new, I'm whatever is before new.
But I would like to do some videos too.
Do you mind posting a pic on how you set up the cam on the bike?
I have a DCR-HC36 and not sure if I can use that plus the bullet cam to
    be able to record.

A little help here... thanks.

Here's the You tube version of Wind River Rd. very lousy IMO. I like Vimeo better, but they have a load limit per week thing.

The ride from the fish hatchery to the end of Curly Creek is one of my favorites, Reg will defiantly see that stretch on his trip to the evergreen state, he doesn't know it yet but I was planning on making 3 PNW & 2 California video's with him, the PNW video's will include Wind River, Hwy 53 & the last 10 miles of Mt. Baker...

With the DCR-HC96, you have a couple of different options, your Sony will handle a bullet cam like RVFR's since it has an input and you will have the versatility to mount it anywhere from your helmet to your rear foot pegs.

Another option is to go with the cheaper $49.00 Vacuum Mount like this one.

    Wood's Powr-Grip Co., Inc. | CLEAT

With a vacuum Mount, you can only mount it on the tank or the cowl, this is the option I went with since my camcorder didn't have a input to plug in a bullet cam. Here's a video made while mounted on a tank...

    YouTube - Northern Oregon

A third option is the GoPro which Puma Cat uses, it doesn't require a camcorder and will mount almost anywhere, here's a video made with the Go Pro...

Here Ya go on what I have and the set up. I use a Joe Rocket tank bag where I also cut up two layers of foam to keep things put. I use suction cups to mount the Bullet cam just about any where on the bike. Helmet too. Yes it stays put. You'll see the Bullet cam here the way I had it when I made the Curly and Wind river Video. Next Video I need to make is to go back to Wind River and do a rear view angle. Hey Rick wanta come along? maybe a good time would be when Reg is here? I have marks on the helmet to keep it lined up so the view looks right. You'll see the remote switch where I use Velcro to keep it put on top of the triple tree where I can keep an eye on it. That switch makes all the difference in the world it has it where just the touch of the button turns it on, starts stops recording, and shuts things down. Yes, helps big time if you have the camera that has the remote pug in's. hope this helps explain.

Man that video is like 10x smoother than mine when I mounted my cam on the tank mount I got from ebay. I need to figure out if there is an image stabilizer button that I am missing...
