My typing is atrocious. "Thread" turned in "treat" and

and "VFR" turned into "VHS". It was late and I was in too much of a hurry. I'm glad no one called me on the race because I would have had to make a big investment in a complete carb rebuild. I would have been seriously trying to win another 700, mines kind of ragged in the body department. But times up now. Besides I really did not want to do all that labor and worry over every little detail of the mixture, balance, linkage and the snap in the cables. And what's an old man doing racing in the street anyway? Dar fool might kill his'self.

What really pissed me off with to begin with was that Sid put up a thread named "GOOD DEAL?" in The BUY&SELL Forum when he wasn't buying or selling anything 'sept his sweet self. I went on that thread thinking that I was being offered some kind of "good deal". All I was being offered was a chance to tell Sid the good news that he had made a good deal for himself. And if there was some kind of a "deal" in answering Sid, it was that if I lied and told him what he wanted to hear, he was going to be my VFRworld buddy for ever and ever. LOVE FOR SALE? Point is, BUY& SELL forum is not the place for making friends. It's where you go to make a deal, find a part, sell a part. If the salesman meets you with a big "shit eating grin" and paws your hand, its usually customary to shift your wallet from your back pocket to the front and keep your hand over it until he lets go. If you pay a "fair price" you made a "business friend". Not someone you necessarily want to invite to the house to introduce to the old lady. The marketplace is not where you front your girl or make sweet talk to another guy. If you got a "good deal" you stole it off some dumb ass who didin't know what it was worth, and you want to get away from the bastard you cheated before he realizes it. This is the business section, you wanted the society pages, or the entertainment section. That is my OPINION. Your mechanic friend took you for a hand full of dust. "Accessories, we don' need no stinkin accessories", [ a play on "Treasure of the Sierra Madre", Humphry Bogart, Walter Huston, John Huston directing, Black and White, early 1940's film that you should all see. A morality play about desire, greed, vanity and madness that makes me think about Sid asking if he got a "good deal"].

    DKC'sVFR,
Do you have too much time on your hands? With all your ailments are you on disability and have nothing better to do with your time? I feel cheated, I'll never get back the time I've wasted reading your posts. If the forum moderators thought the post was in the wrong section (which it probably is) they can easily move it.

well 67, I had to shut off any call out today.

But, no. I just kept getting feed back. I asked "CONTROL" to move "GOOD DEAL?" to the personal's column or maybe to some place where opinion and jawboneing are the staple. No such personals should appear in the classifieds. But they decided to let it work itself out. They have stopped posting to me. I hope the thread goes away forever, I think its a hole for fools to stumble into. I wasn't expecting it when I did.

I found the perfect "smile" :asshat:

For someone who has only been here for less than a month you sure do run your mouth.
I too am very new here, that being said the usual approach is to be courteous and read more than you write. The obnoxious route is really earning you some fans, congratulations you are getting some attention. I assume that is the intent.

You must be a joy to be around.

Give the guy a break, he is asking a question to like minded folks who may have some useful information to contribute. If he is in the wrong posting in the incorrect area I am sure the mods will take care if it.

I am sorry to add to the BS with my post, but this guy is really annoying.

    Reduced to absurdity.

Little children incapable of anything but inane insults, pick out a smilie and let it speak for you. Picking out a smilie is about as much thought as most of you can handle in day. No thinking allowed, at least not out loud. And ridicule for those who can. Achtune, everybody must get down to the same infantile level. Opinions? Opinion has been reduced to compliant regurgitation of the same puke that they fed you from childhood: buy this, buy that, if you don't own what I've got then you aren't cool. Ah, the television/computer generation. Each of you can tell me the list price of what they sell you, which predictably is what you want to buy, but you don't know how to solve a quadratic equation. The Chink's are going to eat your lunch. What do you guys know except what the salesmen want you to know. Dumbfounded by the person's who were supposed to have educated you. Stupidity reigns supreme while the wizards of selling you a pile of crap rob you blind. Look around you children, the water is rising and a hard rain is gona fall. Hold onto your accessories and you're just gona drown, this pirate ships going to sink and if you try to line your pockets with silver you're are just going down.

Yes it is a Ventura Bike Pack system. I haven't been able to use it allot yet but I have enjoyed it so far. It has two different racks that it came with, they are very easy to switch between the two. I don't remember the web site venturausa.com I think.

I'm no VFR expert, yet but I have learned a couple of things since getting my 01 last year:
    1. There will always be a better deal than you got and there will always be a worse one.
    2. If I think I paid too much, I twist my wrist, listen to the Two Bros sing, lean into a curve or pull up next to a VERY uncomfortable Ninja/CBR/R1/etc then smile and wave as the V4 purrs to me....... yeah, I got a GREAT DEAL and so did you!!

    Enjoy!

The thread has already been moved to a better area. It's less than a day old. Relax guys, it's just the internet. Take a ride. Everything seems better after a ride...unless you fall.

    My useless opinion

I bought my bike from a little old lady that only drove it to church and back. Really a deals is what you make of it. Face it, you can buy an immaculate stock bike with all the paperwork in place and still get a dud. When you buy a bike, check the market price, test ride the bike if possible and inspect it as closely as you can. Start it, let the engine get to temperature and listen to it run. Take another rider with you. If you think you see something point it out. Most people will give up the goods without much effort. Its not too common but you could ask to take the bike to an independent mechanic and if anything smells bad, bail on the deal. Another option is to buy new with a warrantee, but again you could still have problems. “Nothing is guaranteed but death and taxes”. Also the apparent continuous rise in the price of gas, that’s also guaranteed.

I have to guess that's a reference to Sid of the Sex Pistols fame? Anywho..
I bought my 2000 that has a Two Brothers "C-Series Carbon" slip-on. I picked it up from the original owner (the title had ONE mile on it) for $4700.00 with 1800 original miles, it was kept covered in his garage in a corner. The previous owner is part of a small group of middle aged guys who have a warehouse full of track bikes and race alot. The "lead guy" serviced the fuel injectors, put in a new OEM fuel pump (due to sitting with no riding for the past 7 years!) flushed ALL the fluids and gave her a fresh Synthetic oil change with filter. My "new" baby looks like she just rolled out of a Honda dealership.
