After two years of ownership I'm finally upgrading my exhaust cans. Tough decision, I thought for sure I wanted the Staintunes until I saw them on a 6th gen in person...I just can't get past the gaps between them and the body, just looks kinda funny to me.

These will be at my house, hopefully, very soon. I'll post pics up once I do it.

Anyone else that may be interested in these, they're on sale here for $799: VFR 800 V-Tec

Now, I just gotta hope my fender eliminator fits ok and I have to start fiddling with a custom PCIII map. I'm figuring I'll use the Staintune map as a baseline and go from there.

The way Murphy's Law and I get along the price on these will probably drop in the next month, so I hope I help you out in that way at least.

Quick update on the PowerCommander mapping for this, I talked to the tech people at Dynojet. They recommend using the Micron map as a baseline for the BOS application.

Exoticsportbike.com is definitely not speedy. Ordered these on 6/12, my order is still in "received" status. Anyone else ordered from these guys before?

Another big plus about the BOS GP-1s is that they use integral hangers, so there's no strap wrapped around the cans.

Very clean, very slick, very sexy.

Well this explains the delay, they drop ship them from the factory in Denmark. Guess I need to be more patient.

They're aluminum and stainless steel, that's all they offer for a 6th gen VFR.

    made me laugh Shorty!

    what ugly gap?

    Kevin,

    About Exoticsportbike.com
they should have told you that beforehand. they did a similar thing to me on my Carbon Fiber Leo Vinces. 8 weeks later still didn't have them took six weeks to get my money back had to get credit card company to help me. they wanted to charge me a 25% restocking fee on stuff they didn't have in stock. though they said they did. I asked. I refuse to shop with them.

From my experience, the gaps either jump right out at you or some people don't even notice them. I don't especially care for the gap mid-tail where they meet the pipes.

Uh oh...don't like the sound of your experience with them as a retailer. I will say their customer service has been pretty good, at least up until this point. I know they've been in business a long time, maybe you just hit some bad luck....we'll see.

Hopefully, it doesn't come down to this with them: :vader:

Nice exhaust, I considered BOS but they were hard to find. I recently put on a pair of stainless scorpion ovals (~$575). As far as the gap, I think the oval shape (as opposed to round), looks closer to stock than most other exhausts except for the BOS. Also with the oval, they can be tilted inward(about 30 deg) to resemble the stock look. And they sound great!

Unbelievably, they actually have to ship these from Denmark....so, not yet. It would have been nice to know that when I ordered. Foolish me, thinking I'd get them in a couple weeks.

I'd heard these were hard to get in North America, guess that's true.

I may end up with Staintunes afterall if they can't get these BOS ones soon.

By the way Base, your bike is looking great!

    Hey kevin,

do you have any pics of the R&G sliders. where did you get them, how do they mount, do you gotta drill your fairings? like to see some pics. how was the install and the all important, how much were they. If you don't mind me asking?

I had a bunch of pics of the install and planned on doing write up for you guys when I first did them...then my camera was stolen out of my daughter's stroller. I'll try to snap some this weekend so you can at least see them mounted up.

They're about a 3 on a 1-5 scale of installation difficulty. The hardest part is drilling the fairings. If you take your time anyone can do a nice job of it. Start with a pilot hole and work bigger, finalize with a dremel...the key is to work slowly.

I paid around $225 and got them from here: Welcome to R&G Racing | Setting the standard in bolt-on motorcycle accessories and Crash Protectors
I think there's a US distributor now for these, however. My quick Google search didn't turn up anything, but keep that in mind to save some $$.
