Before you can't get one I'm going to put one of the kids on eBay (just kidding!) and buy a pipe for my recently purchased '97. Based on the years of experience here what are the pro's and con's of either mounting height? (I can't really afford one of these, especially not two!) I plan on doing overnight trips but not with big soft bags and I rarely, if ever, plan on doing more than a 5-10 minute two up ride. In case I can't find one, do any of the other current production cans make that BEAUTIFUL V-8 sound? (I'm an old Woodward Ave. street racer-shades of a misspent youth!)
Thanks to all the input from this site, been a huge help with my recent purchase!

I have a Gen 4 / 97 with a Hi Rise Staintune , I do most of my riding two up and have yet to try the soft pannier luggage . We in Australia ride in some pretty warm temperatures and all year round. My pillion only complains about the Staintune when I take the "Bung " out it gets a little harsh even for others riding behind me at low revs . She never compalins about a hot leg etc .

It makes beautiful music with or with out the bung and looks Ace mounted Hi under the footpegs.

    I second that.
Nice sound, looks great, no heat problems with passengers.
The rear wheel gets more visible which makes people notice the single swing arm. :strong: Go high!

If your specific on the Staintune brand you have to go with the high system,it looks the best of them all and sounds awsome. You can use any brand for a low pipe and save a few dollars and still have a good look and sound

I have the low mount Staintune to keep my options open for soft luggage in the future. No regrets. Sounds and looks great!

Both the hi & lo will sound exactly the same. I chose lo mount since I use soft bags & still want hard bags, no other reason.

    KC-10 FE out...
