I am pretty much sold on the VFR as my next bike. Having just come off V45 and V65 Maggies (I still have the V45 - great bike) - I am wondering how folks here would rate the "power" and fun factor of the VFR ('07-'08) relative to the V65. The VFR has slightly less displacement but is in a totally different configuration. I like the low end torque of the current V fours but with lots of discussion here holding out for a V4-1000 I would love an honest opinion.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

I think it's (the VFR) plenty but I haven't ridden a V65 in a long time. From what I do remember, though, the VFR is way way quicker, especially through corners...

My VFR is plenty enough for me. Sure, there are instances where I would like more power but for 95% of the time, the VFR is just fine.

    I wouldn't hold your breath for a VFR1000.

    KC-10 FE out...

Just get it! its like comparing a dinosaur to a ferrari to the old v65...only place the v65 is in the hunt is a drag race..rest of time its just old( dont take it wrong,,I have lotsa old bikes I love myself, but they are still old..:)

You wont believe the diff in the chassis..kinda like going from a wet noodle to a formula 1 car..:)

Power is a small part of the experience you have waiting..:)

    enjoy!!

A simple answer? NO. The VFR is not enough bike. I love mine. Rides smooth. Honda build quality. The V4 sounds good, and the styling is cool. But, No, the VFR is not enough. I long for a 1000VFR but I have given up hope. Test riding a Triumph Sprint ST next week in Atlanta.

How happy were you with the Maggies?

    V65 - 116hp, 591 lbs (5.09lbs/hp)
    V45 - 79hp, 502 lbs (6.35lbs/hp)
    VFR- 107hp, 469 lbs (4.38lbs/hp)

    These numbers taken from Bikez.com
They may not be actual, but you can see the VFR has the advantage.
Of course the V65 will have much more low end torque.
My '99 has plenty of zip for me.
As someone said there is much more to the VFR than horsepower.
It can turn. And it's comfy.
