The 27th is better for me that weekend.

Wife's birthday on the 26th...I don't think "See ya - I'm riding up Mt. Baker with the boys!" would go over too well

I vote for the 27th too....it will be a good test run for the bike after her "recuperation" and before we take her on holidays the following week.

    that sounds good murphyslawyer

just a heads up on traveling sea to sky to whistler not a very nice ride unless you enjoy over 50miles of road construction slow congested traffic.
whistler as a destination is great and great riding beyond whistler.
    Cheers
    Jeff

    Good to know

I had thought that would be over by now(constrtuction). But with the olympics and all it's probably pretty busy up north, eh? Thanks for the heads up. The 27th sounds good to me.

    Mt. Baker

A few questions, I've never done it so I have no idea...

What's the best way to get to "their" from here? and where are the best meet places for those coming from the North and those from the South? I'm playing with Google Maps...

Do we want to take Hwy1 to Sumas? Google Maps says if we take WA-547 it turns into WA-542 (Mt. Baker Hwy). From the Chevron at 232/Hwy1, Google Maps says it's only 100k and 1h51m to the top?

    Map Link

To Kendall it's 41m (Not including Sun Morning boarder traffic .. :hand: .... :canada: :tape2: :usa2: ) for us North people and 2h for the Seattle dudes.

hey JS glad your organizing this:smile:
the northerners can meet @ tim Horton's sumas way just before costcos about 1 km before boarder.Just a suggestion but maybe we could meet the southerners in sedro woolly for lunch coffee or something then work our way up toward baker. its a longer ride coming from the south

woe woe woe.. hang on there buster. I just asked a few questions LOL. I have no problem organizing as long as you lead and make all the decisions.. cool?

Is that TH on Sumas just north of the highway on the West Side?

Sedro-Woolley seems like a great idea. It's only 1h away from Sumas via Hwy 9 and and 1h 21m from Seattle. Then it's just 1h40m back to the top of Baker from there.

The ride will be the 27th of July as of now... I think... R.W.?

I figure we could plan to all meet at Sedro-Woolley (where ?) around brunch 10 or 11ish time. That way we can all get up to Baker and the South dudes can ride back home with lots of time to spare.

We could meet at TH around 9? We have no idea what the border will be like.

Dudes from the south, speak your peace regarding times.

I'll let y'all Northerners figure the time and place. Just let me know if it's kilometers or miles. =) I do about half of my riding at night, so it won't bother me when it's time to go home. For all of Seattle's traffic in the day, it doesn't have much at night. Donuts?

    Ride Sunday Jun 22

    Quote from Hovey:

Hi VFR peoples. My name is David, ( from Carter Honda motorsports) and I planned this ride to squamish for VFR's only on
June 22/10:00 am. Fellow VFR owner Steven Barer posted this info a week
or two ago. I said rain or shine, and he posted that. Second thoughts on that
are this, If it's raining, STAY IN BED. If it's a cloudy day, I will still go for it.
I love my 2000 Interceptor, and I hope to see lots of of them on Sunday.

    unquote

Hovey, I moved your ride post out of "introductions" thinking you would get better exposure in this thread.

Where is the meet up point, Carter Motorsports Granville Isl.?

    Squamish Ride

Thanks Hovey. You put together a great ride. 9 viffers showed up!! Awesome turn out. (1 fellow couldn't make the ride, but came for the meet-and-greet)
Nice to meet all the new faces. I think we have some more recruits for the LMD list. Approaching 25 people!!

The S2S still has a lot of construction and broke up the ride a bit. We hit the Starbucks in Squamish and chatted for an hour. Two guys headed on to Whistler.
    Here are a few pics
