Tank bag is electrified, so I have cell phone charger, adaptor for heated vest, sunglasses, change, keys to my office, gortex jacket liner, leatherman, sidestand support in case of hot asphalt, ID card/registration, bungie net, ear plugs, front disk lock, and tire gauge.

Wow, this thread went from just curiosity to very interesting.
Some of the stuff mentioned is very useful (aside from the .45)
Might as well make a list of all the items that we carry.

Several people I ride with keep guns in their tankbags because on many of our rides we end up in places that are only a few miles from the Mexican border. These are areas of high drug and people smuggling operations and the "guides" carry AKs or AR15s - you don't want to mess with them.

Not at all there was a news story from Texas on the news last night about the drug war in Mexico has reached the border. It is certainly not unfeasible for that situation to spill over to a border city. I just try and ride safe at all times although I must confess to maybe exceeding the posted speed limit...

    1. Yes I'm from SoCal (Living in Utah the last 3.5 years now) & have lived through 2 LA Riots with the last one with me working in the middle of it, & on that note our business was the only one in the area not touched - guess why :2guns:.

    2. Because I can & rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

    3. I have been all over this country & lets just say there is more people out there that want what I have thats not afraid to use force to get it, & it's getting worse.

    4. 4 mags because small & compact & the mags don't hold much (6 rounds each) & most thieves, bad people, in general don't work alone in there bad deeds.

    5. back on thread thats all I put in the tank bag because the rest of the necessities, back up gear & over night things are in the 2 side paniers & if need more room for stuff (wife with me) I have a the trunk panier to put on.
