VFRW West Coast Meetup- August 21st-26th, Reno, NV

I'm out. If it was in SW Wa or Portland-area I'd be there. Reno is too far.

 

Count me in. I've camped at Sugar Pine Point State Park. The state park has access to the lake and camping is a little further away. Here are some links:

Looking at the state park site, I see just about all of the campsites are booked up. Oh well!

I am making a calendar so we can actually see when people are not available (makes it much easier to keep track of). So if you have actual dates that you can't go, please post up asap.



ALSO

Does anybody have any objection to staying in Reno? There will be more/better/cheaper lodging, and we can still ride down to Lake Tahoe one day.

 

I'm there for Tahoe! I actually have the first Friday in August off already so the first weekend is perfect (1st thru 3rd)! ANCE7: I can also help with the planning as well. Don't forget the North Shore has plenty of places to stay and Stateline, NV (Casino's) are only a few minutes away. Tahoe is the best central location for staying. We should be able to find a house to rent for the 3 day weekend. If we can nail down the dates I have a few places to try for rooms. Let's get this planned! ANCE7:ANCE7:ANCE7:

 

I'm out of pocket from 8/9-17. So, 8/1-3 works for me.

 

For what it is worth, the Silver Legacy in Reno has covered motorcycle parking right outside the lobby. Their rooms are good, and the prices are very reasonable especially during the week. Tahoe is within an hour via the Mt. Rose route, although tourists can make it a slow ride.

I figured on staying at the Legacy regardless.

RVFR mentioned my place...HMMMMM.
I have bed space for 4, couch space for 2 more, floor space for maybe 6 more comfortably... covered parking for 6-8 bikes 3 full bathrooms--all at my house. several motels in town. Many types of restaurants to choose from. A grill, a big fridge, and a cooler.
Oh yeah, some of the sweetest roads in NORCAL withint a few minutes of my front door.
Reno is 1 hour down the road, Tahoe 2.

My parents live in SLT and have a couple rentals. Once the date is established I can see about grabbing one for a few of us. Sooner the better though, Tahoe summers can fill up fast.

 

I figure I have room for 3 small/medium tents in the yard if you're into camping. I can provide links to Susanville motels if there is enough interest.
