Hello everyone!! This site provides a plethora of motorcycle information. I started riding many moons ago, back in the 80's on a Honda NightHawk S. I stopped riding when I was stationed in Germany and never got back on a bike until 2005 (sad story, I know). I ended up stationed in Monterey, CA where I was attending the Naval Postgraduate School and decided that a motorcycle would be the best choice for my commute from Salinas to Monterey four days a week - lane splitting saves so much time on congested roads. So I purchased a 2005 Kawasaki ZZR 600 which I still currently ride. Now I'm riding in San Antonio, TX and enjoying some Hill Country rides and my commutes. I ask myself every ride, why oh why, does Texas not have legal lane splitting... I am interested in a Gen 6 Interceptor as my next bike (almost bought one over the ZZR) so I am here to learn as much as I can about the mighty Interceptor. Q
Welcome to VFRWorld. There is a lot of info here and very useful. Good luck onyour hunt for a VFR and hope you get one soon.
Welcome to the site! Of course the VFR would be a great choice. Good luck finding one, and be sure to let us know when you do!
Lane splitting is legal in Texas from what I have found. It looks like they passed a law back in 2005.
I know that they tried to pass a law back in '05, but I thought that bill died in the house. Would be cool if it did pass for you Texas folk though.
It looks like you are right on that one. After searching the internet it looks like it didn't pass...
sweet man. Get a VFR me and 2 other friends live here in san antonio. the VFR is deffiantly the bike of choice. PM me if youde like to ride sometime.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I knew that if I became a member here (this is motorcycle world, right?) that I would receive unbiased motorcycle facts In 86 I purchased the Nighthawk because it was a better deal than the VFR and I did that again in 05 with my current bike...this time with your support I will purchase the bike I wanted all along. Thanks again Q
