For those that have comparison shopped, since State Farm charges by engine displacement and the VFR 800 has a medium sized powerplant...does State Farm have the best premium cost for the VFR? I ask because Progressive quotes almost twice the premium for a VFR which they classify as a sport bike versus my current large displacement cruiser.
    Thanks,
    George

I use them and think they are very reasonable. When I did quotes of several other (progressive included) State Farm won. I have other things insured with them, though which helps. The multi-car discount drops a few bucks on our premiums. I want to say I pay around $300 for 6 months of full coverage on a 99 VFR. I think that's close anyway (it's been a long time since I even looked).

Well I have Liberty Mutual for all of my vehicles & homeowners also. I have it set up so they take monthly payments out of my checking automatically. Each month I pay $186.00 for my 02 VFR, 99 4Runner, 94 Corolla, 86 MR2, & my Condo and all of them but the MR2 have full coverage on them. When I added the VFR the price only whent up by $35.00 per month, and I actually have more coverage on my bike than I do on anything else.

On your premiums for your bikes do you guys have medical? I was going to go with State Farm, but they were outrageous with medical. I went with a local company for a few hundred a year (2002 VFR full coverage), and use the medical from work.

Nah, I don't include medical on my bike insurance....that's what my work benefits are for.

I've got full coverage on my '06 VFR through Geico for $274 a year.

I have State farm and have been very happy with them especially Car Insurance... I pay just under 300 for full coverage and for the year... Prgressive and geico wanted to restrict my yearlly mileage and went up drasticlly if I was even planning on doing more than 2500 miles a year...

State Farm has my House, Cars, notorcycle, and Others because when My car got hit by a person while it was in a "Parking lot" and their insurence comapny wanted to cheap out on the coverage State Farm went after them for me... They really went to bat for me an got the money for me after progressive wanted to make me wait on the check...

That went a long way for me and State Farm is my insurance...

I will stick with State Farm also. I use them for my home owners and auto as well as my VFR (which I pay < $300 for full coverage per year)

Similar story for me... my car was hit and totalled by an under-insured driver. It took a while for State Farm to actually locate my car since I had turned it over to the other driver's insurance company but once they did they had a rather sizeable settlement in my hands the next day.

That's the other thing with State Farm. The very few times I have needed them for a claim or mishap, they have stood up for you and take care of you.
    That what you pay for.
