I understand your response KC- it comes from deep seated feelings of "wiener envy".

    Boomer

Well, don't know if I'd say favorite, but he is our dog. Came with the name Boomer, quite fitting. Vet described him as a Ridgeback. Not a terribly bright dog.
He is likeable enough though, and at first I couldn't figure out why he ended up in the pound. Then it dawned on me that who ever had him before didn't have the balls to convience a 110 lb hyperactive dog that he wasn't the alpha male in the house. He and I have come to an agreement.

This 3/4 Shepherd 1/4 Siberian really did not like a bath. Got him when I had to move to another city ahead of my first wife. Had a crazy neighbour so the wife felt safer with the dog. But cause I was not around, the battle ensued as to who was the boss not too long after that. He growled and snarled at me when I came home the first time. He only did this once. After he bounced off the wall a few times that day, he quickly learned who was who in this nest. But he did turn out to be a nice dog. Unfortunately whenever we went out, he howled so has to give him to a farmer cause the neighbours got pissed after a year or so. The bath was as you can see, a real battle.

This thread reminds me of an old man, that used to be seen on I-40 around Hickory, NC.
He rode a blue Panhead, with a piece or plywood mounted to the rear fender. His German Shepard rode with him. Haven't seen them in many years.

thats real sad to hear. long term pets are like family so please accept my condolences.

i like the pic of your cat on the tank. it reminds me of a famous kiwi pair named Max & rastus(the cat). max had a BMW (i think) and rastus would ride everywhere with him sitting in his tankbag. they became mini celebrities in NZ
with rastus sporting a small helmet & googles, (which i think came off a childs aviator teddy bear) any way they were both tragically killed, whilst riding,
when their bike was hit by a drunk driver.
    such a waste...
