i took my recently purchased 04 vfr to the local honda dealership on may 20th to get the wire harness recall done as well as the brake inspection. i get a call today from them telling me its going to be done fri or saturday. Thats almost 3 weeks for a recall? I feel bad for the service mgr because when i went in to the dealership yesterday the was a couple other people ther giving him hell so i laid off. But damn... 3 weeks? how long did it take you guys to get the crap done?

Mine took 1 day. Sorry but looks like that service manager needs some extra help around that shop.

Obviously probably depends on the dealer's backlog. Seems waaaaay long to me though. Hope you get it sooner rather than later!

Yea, thats what i figured. I hate to be an asshole because i work in cust serv too, but 3 weeks is a little crazy. plus the weather here in florida is only gonna be somewhat bareable for another 2 weeks or so. Then 99 or 100 every day with 100% humidity.

Your experience, plus your observations of two other people, is good evidence that maybe you should go elsewhere?

You are not out of line. Unfortunately, piss poor service is the rule rather than the exception in NJ. As it is right now, I only let the dealers do stuff I am not able to do myself. I need to flush my brakes & I think I'm going to let the only Honda dealer around my house that is Honda & only Honda do it.

    KC-10 FE out...

the only bad thing is that in the panhandle of florida (lower alabama) their is only so many honda dealerships (2) within a two hour drive . i guess ill be making the longer trip to pensacola next time.
