well i got the gorilla alarm installed with the two way pager. quite nice...some level of comfort knowing i can tell what activity is about the bike. motion sensor, tilt sensor, ignition sensor.. very pleased.. will at least afford me a shot at stopping the evil forces.. :vader:

I would also ask that you all check your insurance companies... i called mine today and found they had in error dropped my theft and fire coverage... :bs:

i can't understand that one...but its back there now.

200 bones, and had my service shop install it.

he had a job fitting the module.. he had to locate it in the front fairing above the rad. he was rotted he could not fit it under the seat :) he used the access cover inside the fairing up behind the front tire.

bragging? really. i thought it was a sharing forum where it was acceptable to let others know what trinkets you have on your ride and how its working for you. i was simply sharing that i was happy with my alarm and that i had discovered in this theft deterant exercise that my insurance company had removed my theft coverage...

where you see bragging in this I am at a loss to understand..

Don't worry dutch, SLOVFR doesn't have both oars in the water if you know what I mean. Ate too many paint chips as a kid...me? I don't have an excuse!

BTW, does this new alarm have the remote paging device on it, sends a signal to your keyfob.

yeah, thats the really nifty part of it. One fob for setting the alarm and one to keep in your pocket with a animated display of the activity on your bike. I've never seen one like it before. Thats the part that interested me in getting it to begin with. I wanted to know what kind of tampering I was potentially running after. Where I work a lot of nights, I park outside and work on a 2nd floor...

there are a lot of kids in the area that skateboard and what not so the "warn away" part of the alarm was real attractive. it beeps pre-warning of a louder alarm if you bump the bike. on the fob it shows a hammer hitting the bike..

Then for tilting, again the fob show the bike in motion...and for ignition activation the fob displays a key...

so on some level you know how serious you have to be when your running after your baby and wether or not you need a big stick in tow..lol.

I hope I never have to run after it. First time I ever had a bike that I wanted an alarm on. If someone made off with this machine I think I would cry.

The RWB is rare and I don't plan on letting her out of my hands ever. If someone were to steal it I would feel so violated. An alarm on a bike might seem silly to a lot of people but for me, it at least gives me the practical that I can hustle from the second floor maybe before it disapears.. if nothing else it will frighten the be-jebus out of the theifs if that siren goes off.

7 sirens blow off one behind the other..

I put the same alarm on about a month ago before by trip out to Cali. I stayed a week in the same motel and had the alarm go off once at about 11 pm the third night I was there. No one was there when I looked out the door, and it was good to know it was the shock sensor and not the tilt sensor (so I know someone didn't stand the bike up). I'm not sure how far away the 2 way pager works, but I've gotten fairly far away and it's worked so? I mounted the unit inside and under the left front fairing, and the whole install probably took no more than one hour. If I get the fairing off soon I'll post some pics.
