I was thinking of a longer ride this weekend aswell. How about Merritt to Princeton via 5A and back through manning. 5a is an awesome road.
or duffy lake loop but weather has to be perfect to do that trip.
sunday would be best for me aswell

Time wise, how long of a trip is that? Can JS make this one? I am inclined to go with that if it is doable with these older brittle bones.

duffy lake loop is 6to 8hrs depending on how many stops. i should think merrit loop would be about 6 hrs or longer with stops.

I would be up for something like that. I would like to try 5A, but I guess that means riding the Coquhala one way or the other. Not a huge fan of the super-slab, but willing to try.

the 5-6 hr range would be plenty for me. Would prefer to go earlier and get back for dinner.

I'm also fine with the shorter Boston Bar or Manning Park idea of Randy's.

Sorry boys, I'm not going to be able to do a long ride this weekend. If I am lucky I may be able to get a shorter ride in, unsure which day though. You guys have a great ride. :party2:

not a big fan of the coq either, after looking at destination hwys last night theres a road recommended that bypasses some of the coq to Merritt sounds like a nice road. unfortunately you have to ride some of the coq to get to the better roads

Bryan only working a half day tomorrow up for a ride on the loop? and any one else thats interested friday afternoon

whats this short cut thing eh... couldn't find any info on that road.
how about ride to spencers bridge then on hwy 8 rated as good light traffic only 55km (lots of twisties) to merrit then on to 5a 88km then from princton back home via manning park miss the coq completely. get in 2 great hwys. if we leave early ride up the canyon (lighter traffic) to spencers bridge kinda the boring part out of the way and then back through manning park should be a great ride! and be back late afternoon if we take our time
Randy we could meet you in chilliwack whats a good place ?

I don't know boys...the forecast is changing. Calling for rain Sunday (in Manning Park, anyway) damn system coming from the east. We'll keep an eye on it.

Plan B, can you guys ride Sat. - probably a bit more local

I looked at this on Google Earth cause I don't revcall any paved raods along there. And on Google it looks like a upgraded logging road. Not really conducive to our type of bikes.

We will see what Sunday brings.

Love that Google Earth. Can travel all over the world right here on the computer.
