Well, I've made it. I'm now in Edinburgh. Today will be my first day really exploring. I'm about a block from the castle across from theatre called Lyceum. Missed Skimad as that first travel day was awful and no one was in mood to do anything other than get to our cottage and rest. I'll try and post some pics. Btw I've seen a couple bars in the UK but for some reason they're riding on the wrong side of the road.

I just loved Edinburgh while we were there. You really should try to see the Britannia. In case you are not aware, that is a Royal Navy vessel that was at one time the dedicated Royal Yacht until the navy decommissioned it. The city of Edinburgh purchased it and put it on display for us commoners to see. Apparently the queen had a hissy when the navy took her boat away. They actually have her Rolls packed away on that canoe too.

We visited so many castles while we were there. Also took in the Abby golf course. I think that is the only golf course where Donny frump does not get to land his helicopter.

Some pics from around lincolshire. This thatch roofed pub was founded in 1367: The King's Head[IMG]
This is standing at Lincoln Castle looking back toward Lincoln Cathedral. It's massive. Pretty sure it's named after Abraham Lincoln.

Around Edinburgh, this is the view from the door of the flat where my brother in law and stepson were staying just off the royal mile. [IMG]

This phone booth was down the block (maybe 50 yds) notice the castle in the background? So we had a decent view also.

This was the museum where I saw all kinds of neat stuff.

This is the Scott Monument. It can be seen from all over the town.

This is a painting by Titian.

Yep, that's right. This inn was established about 600 years before our country. Some of the rooms are carved from sandstone.[IMG]

Around Nottingham. Believe it or not, that is a pub that used to be a church. More of a piano bar, but you get the idea.[IMG]
Robin Hood statue. He's kind of a big deal around there.

An old church I walked by.
