So it is finally time to kick some life back into a somewhat overlooked thread to see if anyone else on VFRWorld might be interested in meeting up for some or all of the following..

Being based in the French Alps we have plenty of great roads on our doorstep, but even so, we do enjoy taking our bikes further afield, so a small group of us have been doing some advance planning for trips elsewhere in Europe.

    In 2018

a group are taking 13 days heading across France to Spain to Portugal and back.

    29 April depart Haute Savoie
30 April Picos de Europa Spain,
    1 May Braganca Portugal
    2-5 May Coimbra
    6-8 May Vila Real
    9 May Picos de Europa
10 May to Haute Savoie or via duty free Andorra plus additional over night stop

A bigger group are heading to the UK for a weekend meeting on 6-8 July in Harrogate. A few may head via the Eurotunnel but most of us are taking the overnight ferry from Zeebrugge to Hull.

Any Brits around for a blast and beer when we are in Yorkshire?

[I will also be over to catch up with Long in LA and hopefully others at R3 (memorial weekend) or whatever it becomes].

Yes some really long range planning - a gang of us are headed for the Isle of Man TT (25 May - 7 June).

NB if you really want to go to the 2019 TT with a motorbike - bookings for the Isle of Man Steam packet ferries open on Monday 21 May 2018! It is important to pre-register as most popular crossings sell out within minutes and if you have not pre-registered then you may find the ferry you want is fully booked by the time you have just completed the online booking and payment details.

A debate is still raging here over whether to just come for the practice week and head home after Mad Sunday (the first week) or come only for the main race week (week two) - even though it provides little opportunity to actually ride the course as it is closed most of the day. Currently the earlier (and cheaper) week looks favourite.

So Manx VFR (and any others interested) maybe we can meet up in Douglas for a meal one evening or another lap of the course!!

You can put my name down for Alaska. Mainly, I'd be glad to be a point of communications for Anchorage or the rest of the state.
I'll even plan a ride this summer....even if it's just me......

I'll try and remember to check with you if I ever make the obligatory AK trek from CA on the GS.

My stuff is in pieces right now, but I'll do some GoPro of some of the rides up here in a few weeks.

Maybe this is the start of a revival of sorts. Central Ohio has some loyal VFR riders. They might not be on this Forum, but I might round a couple up. That is, when I get back to Ohio the first of June.

Sounds like fun, I may be interested for DC/MD/Va tristate area volunteering.
Though I would like to amend the following:
We would pay each of you $500 a month, per diem for strip club expenditures of course, and a paper of immunity to show to the local sheriff in case you are not Joey_Dude and the cops actually catch you. You would also be expected to run 5 miles each day, and hit the weights for at least 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. haha....just joking! Only gift is your sense of pride of doing something good!

*I want the $500/day to also apply for trackday expenditure :) we have Summit Point, and VIR.

Will follow and see if I made the list.

If there is a need I’d like to volunteer as the New Jersey representative. I am also involved with a well respected motorcycle group that I’m sure would welcome any VFR riders.
