    First of all, Merry Christmas!
Bought mine 5th gen VFR (99') two years ago (on 2015th), mileage at that moment was around 92k miles. During these two years been riding it mostly on our local moto gymkhana courses, increasing the skill and the overall ability to maneuver this bike.

During this summer disassembled it completely (rear end was separated from the engine and the frame). Pretty much everything, including, but not limited to the forks, brakes, fluids, steering head and every single bearing and seal I checked, chain, sprockets, etc. - was blown, so I decided to refurbish it. At the moment I am still assembling it (workshop manual is the best friend of mine).

This is my first bike. I am 31 y/o, 196 cm tall and my weight is around 90-92 kg. Without the VFR, other alternatives were CBF1000 (first gen), X11, Hornet 900. However it all ended with the VFR in my workshop.

I was checking the group-buy thread for a Helibars, however could not find one (Still getting used to this forum... ). Is there anything actual happening at the moment?

I will add some photos later, if someone's interested.

    Have a nice day!

Welcome. No group buys for Helis at the moment. Probably best finding a used set on eBay to save a buck.

    Welcome to the forum.

Sorry but I don't think there is any chance anyone will now be organising a group buy for 5th/6th Gen Helibars. Most people who wanted them have already got them.

You may get lucky and find some on eBay, craigs list and the likes, or could put something into the wanted adds on here, just in case someone has a set lying around in their garage which they no longer use. I think there is still some new-old stock held by Helibars in the USA but they will be costly to ship over to Europe.

The folks on here like photos - please so do add some soon.

    Merry Christmas to you too.

Folks, thank you for the info. I will look for them around here and on the net.

And some media content. 2016th and 2017th season, training sessions and local mgh competition:

And then it was disassembled, repainted and refurbished. Some pics:

More up-to-date photos. The last two ones were made just yesterday.

Finally, this is the vid of the second run on our local MGH comps I participated in June. In short - a lot of things to work on.

So, a little update. The riding season is almost over, as the autumn is coming.
During this season changed the alternator / RR (the old ones died), traveled twice to France to attend riding training courses, second time came with the VFR in the back of the van. Changed the tires twice during the season (around 20th of July the front one - from Pirelli Angel GT to the same Angel GT) and during the last week the rear one finally gave up, so a used Pilot Road 4 was used. The reason for change was that the sidewalls gave up, the center section was still like 3-4 mm deep.
Overall, a lot of training and riding during this season.

In the end of this message there will be several videos of this season.
Friend with his R1 mastering the GP8 figure:

France, instructor showing the figure 1 on the VFR, July of 2018th:

    Again France, figure no.2:

Second day of training course, another figure to master:

The training session, VFR leading the pack to show the training track to other trainees:

Sorry about the vid quality, don't have any high quality video gear yet. For me, it is fascinating to ride the VFR like that, even if the bike itself is not the most appropriate for this kind of riding. However, you always can search for Japanese moto police training vids on Youtube to understand that it's not the bike, it's the skill of the rider what matters the most (imho).

And two other videos (maybe the most interesting ones) from the previous message:

R1 vs the VFR, "catch me if you can" type of race. A colleague on his R1 trying to get away from me.

This time, VFR trying to get away from the R1.
