Looking forward to the warner weather and getting to know my new arrival. Its done nothing but rain here since I got the bike delivered last weekend. Plenty of opportunity to get it polished up and start to fix any niggles that need sorting to keep this example in tip top condition.

I've been away from bikes for a right few years, so I'll be easing myself in gently... no heroics... just enjoying the odd sunny morning run before a days work.

There was a break in the showers today so I wheeled it out for a side shot. I know the paint scheme is not loved by some, with loads of "looks like a crashed bike" comments... but I really love the 60's Honda Racing colour scheme and retro wings on the tank.

Theres a set of Michelin Cups fitted - way too track oriented for me as a returning biker, so I've a new set of Bridgestone Battlax's to go on. Oil has only been done recently, but I'm intending to let my local workshop give the bike a health check just for peace of mind. I'll get fresh brake and clutch fluid. The clutch is heavier than I've had on other bikes, but I don't think theres a problem. Its just a weighty lever and thats no bad thing as it gives great feel.

Engine casing could do with a repaint in the correct colour. Is that something you can easily do DIY?

Its got 19k miles on the clock and has been really well looked after over the years. The temptation is great to add a free flowing slip on... but a big part of me just wants to keep it as it sits.

There's a Tour Max rectifier fitted, showing 13.7V battery at idle. Its not a MOSFET rectifier, so that's something I might change preventatively at some stage.

If there's any other preventative maintenance I should do, let me know!
