I loved my old VFR, last iteration of the carbureted models. I sold it to help fund my racing habit (Honda Hawk), and have regretted that decision ever since. Other than getting into dirt bikes, every other street legal motorcycle I've had just hasn't quite scratched that VFR itch. I'm picking up a low mileage 2014 VFR800 on Thursday. It will have a bunch of maintenance done at a shop before I pick it up, not least of which is some Pilot Road 5s. Baby needed new shoes. I'm glad to see they put the radiator back where the almighty intended radiators to be and the linked breaks have been exorcised.

Have not owned a hawk since 2002. Great machine. Nostalgia would steer me back to one despite there being more practical choices. I'm considering casually racing dirt bikes (Enduro not MX) now.
It was sort of a dumb situation. I came up on the backside of an unmarked sheriff's patrol car. I didn't realize it until I was passing him. I rolled off a little and he braked hard. Obviously, he wants to check my plate. So, naturally, I go on about my business in a lawful manner but with no plate on my motorcycle. I was told they don't issue temporary paper for motorcycles in Arkansas. So I'm expecting to get pulled over immediately. Nothing happens. I'm stuck in the left lane with a guy who is pacing me. If I speed up, so does he. If I slow down, so does he. And there's a deputy behind me. Someone makes a left turn in front of me going about 2 mph. So, reactions took over and I zipped forward and into the right lane. Got a warning for 72 in a 65 based on the fact that I caught up to the deputy when he was going 72 in a 65, and for failure to signal my lane change. Never a word about my lack of a plate. Never asked to see insurance or title proof. Just ran my DL and issued a warning. He wants to sell his Harley and get a sport bike. We talked motorcycles for a little bit.
