So today was a good day as I managed to spend some proper time with the bike. I removed the bodywork which was held on with lots of different types of bolts..allen screws and the odd torx!! Plan was to test everything and clean up connections. I cleaned all the relays etc and nothing..fuel pump didnt prime engine just turned over... messed at the front with the engine stop relay and the pump buzzed into life... pressed the button and it started!! Ran fine... however im not out of the woods yet... it ran and revved cleanly, but when it got hotter it just stopped... same symptoms... but when it cooled it ran as normal. Its done this twice now so thats tomorrows job trying to sort that...as well as cleaning all the ground points. Where is this mysterious grounding bloc everyone talks about?

Cleaned the bank angle sensor today as the connection was well furred up. Ran it up and it didnt cut out so thats good. Next thing to look at is the radiator fan as it didnt come on ... and i cant read the temperature as the LCD screen isnt working so thats another problem to look into. Ill ground the fan wire tomorrow to see if the fan actually works. I may not have left it long enough as didnt want to risk it over heating.

Removed the clocks today to see why the lcd panel wasnt working. Id read on here about adding a jumper wire but on closer inspection this had already been done so that wasnt the problem. I tested all the tracks on the back and found the one that powered the clock had no continuity. Soldered a jumper wire on and it all worked... am well happy.
